It's a know problem. Update FreeTDS. 0x38 is a not-nullable INTEGER,
mssql 2005 does not support this type some parameters (you need to
pass a nullable integer) while mssql 2000 doesn't have this problem.

Future version will update version to Microsoft way. Now consider 8.0
== 7.1. mssql 2005 support versions 4.2, 7.0, 7.1 and 7.2 of the
protocol. Usually 7.0 suffice for main use, 7.1 add collations for
columns and some additional types.
