Thanks, Bob. One difference I belive I've noticed between these two
versions is that with tds version 4.2 I can get the number of rows
affected returned from a DBD::Sybase::do statement, whereas with
versions 7.0 or 8.0 I always get -1 returned.
I believe you're using perl and DBD::Sybase, too. Have you (or anyone
else) encountered this difference as well? Do you have any advice on
working around it?
I believe something similar is reported here:
http://www.peppler.org/bugdb/view?bug_id=396 but since I can change
the behavior by changing tds versions, I suspect something in FreeTDS
is causing the oddity.
