um, without knowing a lot of specifics about your setup it is difficult to diagnose properly. here's something more generic on shared libraries that may help you solve your problem [or you might just learn something unrealted to your current problem]:

some other issues:
does the cron script run as you or as root [or as someother user]?
the cron process may be restricted in terms of which environment variables it is able to use. maybe you can run a cron job to print out the current run-time environment and check it out.
