Hi jkl,
Here is the entry for the Sybase database in my odbc.ini
[VISDB]
Driver = TDS
Description = SAN Point Sybase DB
Servername = VISDB
Here is the entry from freetds.conf:
[VISDB]
host = 10.247.64.68
port = 2638
tds version = 5.0
Is there anything wrong with those configurations?
Thanks.

Hi jkl,
I did use freetds.conf and the [dataserver] name did matches the name of
the
database I wish to use and still doesn't work.
Any more idea?
Thanks.

You will not be able to connect to an ASA server unless you use the
freetds.conf file, and the [dataserver] name matches the name of the
database you wish to use.

Jun,
It could easily be your ODBC .ini files. You should be following the
ODBC-combined setup, and your odbc.ini should use "Servername", not
"Server". You might try setting TDSDUMPCONFIG, to make sure FreeTDS is
really fetching the dataserver name you intend.
If all that looks OK, post your odbc.ini and freetds.conf. Maybe
someone will spot something.
