$ grep -n CS_BINARY include/cspublic.h
68:typedef unsigned char CS_BINARY;
606:#define CS_BINARY_TYPE 12

It is, and cspublic.h is #included in ctpublic.h. Is dbdimp.c somehow
not including ctpublic.h?
