What do you mean by "it core dumps"? Building, or running? If running,
running tsql? Or something else?

What does this show:

$ sed -ne'/^configured by/,/^$/p' config.status
configured by ../configure, generated by GNU Autoconf 2.57,
with options \"'--with-tdsver=7.0' '--disable-libiconv'\"

Many people run with TDS 7.0 all the time. Whatever's wrong is fixable.
