You're not alone.

I think it's accurate to say (perhaps Bill will correct me) that
placeholders are one use of dynamic SQL.

If we can use placeholders in DBD::Sybase, that would be have become the
case only in the last month or so, after applying Bill Thompson's ct-lib
patch. I don't recall anyone reporting success with it yet.

I'm glad you raised the topic. Better ct-lib support is one of the features
of the upcoming 0.62 release, and Perl placeholder support is something many
people seem to want.
