It's true. Also mssql2k can send every column with a different charset.

I'm working on this. I added iconv_t members to process single-byte (or
utf8) characters.
I noted this problem. What should we return for column_size ?
If server send latin1 and we convert to utf8 a char(3) like 'รจรจรจ' is
translated (or should be) to 6 byte. Now column_size is 3 but data_size
is 6. Same problem with insert...

Bug in tds_get_string (see FIXME comment in read.c). Now tds_get_string
have 3 parameters:
- tds
- destination buffer
- destination buffer length (same as string to read from wire)
I think we should separate destination buffer length from length to read
(this is we we truncate data...).

Perhaps: you put characters in iso-8859-1 and server store then using
cp1252...
