Isn't there a SQL Server JDBC driver? If I were to stoop to Java,
I'd go with a JDBC driver:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/downloads/default.asp?URL=/downloads/sample.asp?url=/MSDN-FILES/027/001/779/msdncompositedoc.xml
Excerpt:
| Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC
|
| The Microsoft® SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC is a Type 4 JDBC
| driver that provides highly scalable and reliable connectivity for the
| enterprise Java environment. This driver provides JDBC access to SQL
| Server 2000 through any Java-enabled applet, application, or application
| server.
