Hello All
(Thanks to everybody for all the help so far - freetds looks very good and
your help and support have been excellent.)
I am getting my freetds application compiled/tested/ported across several
platforms. They are all working except for irix, where it fails looking
for the host IP address 255.255.255.255. My Systems guys tell me there is
nothing different about the set up so it must be the way freetds is
handling it. I cannot see anything in the archive messages. Has anybody
seen this before? Can anybody suggest anything?
I am using a snapshot dated 20th August. Accessing MS SQL Server 2000.
irix platform uname -a output is "IRIX64 picasso 6.5 07091544 IP27".
Here is the TDSDUMPCONFIG output for the irix platform:
2002-09-11 10:21:29 Got a match.
2002-09-11 10:21:29 option = 'host' value = 'davinci'.
2002-09-11 10:21:29 Found host entry davinci.
2002-09-11 10:21:29 IP addr is 255.255.255.255.
Here is an example of it working on another platform (linux7):
2002-09-11 09:42:14 Got a match.
2002-09-11 09:42:14 option = 'host' value = 'davinci'.
2002-09-11 09:42:14 Found host entry davinci.
2002-09-11 09:42:14 IP addr is 172.18.6.12.
Here is some ping output from the irix platform just to show it can see
the server:
PING davinci.lionbio.co.uk (172.18.6.12): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 172.18.6.12: icmp_seq=0 ttl=128 time=0.461 ms
Telnet test from the irix platform:
seers@picasso> telnet davinci 1433
Trying 172.18.6.12...
Connected to davinci.lionbio.co.uk.
Escape character is '^]'.
Regards.
