You can't be quite that direct, since you want to be sure you don't change
real extern variable declarations or 'extern "C" {' blocks. But in general,
yes, I'd like to see all of our extern function declarations changed to
prototypes. (We may want to be more careful with the "public" header files,
if we care about supporting old non-ANSI C compilers. Does anyone care?)

I figured I'd start with one header and see if that met with approval before
submitting patches for the others. Let me know if I should continue or if
you want to do it yourself.

thoughout? I found similar in sybdb.h.
