You cannot access FreeTDS through most proxy servers. The CVS pserver
connection can be proxied using a plain TCP connection bouncer.
The problem you mention "unknown host error" is a failure to resolve the
domain name. Either your host or your network is improperly configured
to resolve names. Check that /etc/resolv.conf is set to point at your
local domain name server. Try using an IP address in place of
cvs.sourceforge.net on the export command ... try 216.136.171.202
Speak with your firewall administrator to determine if what you need to
do is within the policy. Although many firewalls permit outgoing
connections, not all do.
