Just when I thought I knew everything!
I set up
Adaptive Server Enterprise/11.9.2.3/1159/P/SWR 9223 ESD 3/
Linux Intel/Linux 2.2.5-15 i586/OPT/Tue Sep 5 06:37:26 2000
on a TurboLinux box awhile back and recently brought it back to life.
If I'm logged into the box (sandbox), I can use Sybase's isql just fine
(that's where the above version string came from). And I can telnet to
the port (4100).
>From my other machines, though, life is not so grand:
# telnet sandbox 4100
Trying 192.168.1.12...
telnet: Unable to connect to remote host: Connection refused
# ping -o sandbox
PING sandbox.schemamania.org (192.168.1.12): 56 data bytes
64 bytes from 192.168.1.12: icmp_seq=0 ttl=255 time=0.303 ms
----sandbox.schemamania.org PING Statistics----
1 packets transmitted, 1 packets received, 0.0% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 0.303/0.303/0.303/0.000 ms
I think I have to do some linuxy thing to be allowed into 4100 from
other than localhost, but surely someone here actually knows?
Thanks.
