It is possible to compile by hand...not pretty, but possible.

First go to the src/tds directory and do something like this:

cc -g -c -o whatever.o -I ../../include whatever.c

where whatever is the name of each file...You can create a makefile to do
the grunt work...anyway then cd to either ../dblib or ../ctlib depending
on what you are trying to do, and repeat the process for compiling. Then
create the library including (i'll use dblib as an example)

cd ../dblib
(compile *.c here)
ar qv libsybdb.a *.o ../tds/*.o

and bless it:

ranlib libsybdb.a

And there you have a static library of FreeTDS. If you need a shared lib,
you're on your own (sorry...not a HP/UX expert).

For ctlib the name of the library is libct.a
