This list seems to have more than the average number of questions which
have already been answered (some quite a few times). While this isn't a
very flattering reflection on those who don't follow the standard
practice of looking in the archives for the mailing list before posting
questions, it would still be helpful to have a more up-to-date and
complete FAQ document to which such posters could be referred. This
won't eliminate all the unnecessary repeat questions, of course, but it
should help cut back on them, as well as make it easier to respond to
them.
I'd be willing to help compile some of the entries to update the FAQ as
long as (a) I wasn't doing it all myself and (b) I had some indication
that what I produced would actually get folded into the distribution and
the page on the web site.
