I asked the Director of RSA to post this in anticipation of my application for a fellowship with the RSA, in order to participate in their Forum discussions:
Suggestion for reflection is offered. There exists the opportunity to place low-end PCs loaded with state-of-the-art audio and video software on a table, anywhere, today. Specifically, as the cost is negligible, i.e., there are millions of low-end PCs that can be obtained through donation and the software is freely available from Stanford University's Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics, a target population of low-income neighborhoods and Third World countries would benefit enormously from such activity.

The software enables users to create the same quality CDs, DVDs, tv and radio shows, even full-featured films, podcasts, webcasts, and other multimedia products that now require expensive recording facilities in the major record labels arena, major tv and radio broadcast network studios, or major film production studios. In other words, the cost of entry for participating in world-class Arts & Culture is now free to every individual in the world community.

Technical support and training for users already exists, and is free. How might Open Studios, or any other nonprofit organization "gain acceptance" of this approach to stimulating enterprise, entrepreneurship and the development of accountable wealth creating organizations?
