Thanks, Janet.

BYW, when the question of who/what is/are Nephalim, I didn't want to take
time at the meeting to explain. So, here goes.....

The Nephalim were ancient mid-eastern giants associated with creation myths
of several peoples like the Assyrians and Hebrews. A Greek equivalent would
be the Titans. The proper spelling from the Hebrew is Nephilim - "nephil" =
giant; "im" is the Hebrew inflection for masculine plural. Thus "giant
men." The spelling using "a" instead of "i" was a mistranslation from
Hebrew via Greek to English in the King James bible.

See Genesis 6:1-7 for the Hebrew version of these giant men. One caution in
the bible belt: These Nephilim, who were originally the sons of God,
married and produced more giants, who also produced sons who were not so
nice. Thus, God was sorry he made man and vowed to "destroy man whom I
created." So God hired Noah and started all over again; this time with
little men.

How big were the so-called giants of whom the ancient Hebrews wrote - say,
Goliath? Probably about the size of an NBA forward, since anthropological
evidence indicates Hebrew men were about 5'4" - 5'5" tall.
