2006 Community Art Project:

Lost & Found

CALL FOR ENTRIES

The theme for the Chapel Hill Public Arts Commission’s 2006 Community Art Project is Lost & Found! Now in its third very successful year, this community-wide exhibition will be on view in public places throughout Chapel Hill and Carrboro in April and May 2006. Take this opportunity to create!

To be a part of this project, the CHPAC invites everyone who lives/works/plays in Chapel Hill and Carrboro to create an artwork based on the theme Lost & Found. Any interpretation of Lost & Found is welcome – be creative! What have you lost? What have you found? Does it relate to the materials you use or the concept you choose? You decide!

Draw it
Paint it
Photograph it
Sew it
Digitize it
Collage it
Construct it
Write it

How to Enter

All submissions must be able to hang on the wall and should be no larger than 24 x 36 inches (For hanging/framing instructions please visit www.communityartproject.org or call 919.968.2888, x377).

All submissions will be delivered to the Chapel Hill Museum at 523 East Franklin Street (corner of Franklin and Boundary Streets) on March 10 and 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Please deliver your artwork with a completed entry form and an accompanying paragraph that will be displayed with your piece (you can submit your work anonymously; however, the Commission still requests that you submit an anonymous statement about your piece).

This exhibition is open to EVERYONE. We encourage classes, workshops and community groups to incorporate Lost and Found into existing projects and/or curricula – group submissions are welcome!  Please forward this invitation to friends in the community who may be interested.
