Happy Friday friends! 👋🏽

So the CC Africa/Latin America Community Call took place this week and this is probably the highlight of my week. I learned quite a bit and I'd like to share some of that with you.

Both regions engage in projects that are heavily focused on providing trainings about Creative Commons and the wider Open Movement and why it's important. We began exploring ways to improve our trainings and share our lessons and that conversation centered around the CC Certificates and how we can use this to boost the quality and credibility of our trainings.

More immediately, there was a need to share what various chapters are up to. Friends from Latin America (led by CC Colombia) did a project called Audio-carta meaning Audio Letters - in which different chapters recorded audio clips explaining what they were up to.

We might pursue something similar. CC Global South Podcast perhaps? A way to share with the world what CC Chapters in the Global South are doing and why it matters.

I've spent most of the week doing 2 things: reaching out to CC Chapters across Africa and giving feedback to applicants of the CC Community Activities Fund. I've asked many of these people to reach out to you, the leaders of the various CC Chapters, to offer to collaborate on various projects. I've offered to make introductions if necessary. I hope you can welcome these people into your CC community and finds ways to work and collaborate with them.

Quick reminder: our Global Collaboration agenda is centered on CC Platforms. Take a look and join in: https://wiki.creativecommons.org/wiki/Platforms

'Til next Friday y'all!
