Hello Everyone
Most of you know that I'm in the process of returning to Canada following a 6.5-year absence. It's very nice to be home.
Despite the many partners and colleagues I've had the pleasure to work with as we strengthened the SA network, I believe it's essential that affiliates be living in the country they represent to ensure strong local connections. I will begin my resignation process as public lead from CC South Africa. I have commitments to fulfill including my work on the Global Network Strategy Steering Committee & Open Textbooks 4 Africa which I will see through. My last day as CC South Africa public lead will be December 31, 2016.
It was through CC South Africa that I got my start in this movement and the community that I have come to love. It's been a pleasure to work on projects both in South Africa and across Africa. The warmth of all the African colleagues I've had the pleasure to work with over the years will keep me warm this Canadian winter.
I'm excited to see all work happening in Canada and look forward to supporting Creative Commons and the open movement from my new base in Toronto.
Kelsey
