Hello! :)

Been awfully quiet around here!

Kelsey, it’s interesting you bring this up now as I’m in the middle of planning for a School of Open session for the summit.

CC’s focus has been on growing the commons and from the recently released state of the commons report, less than 1% of CC-licensed works are published in Africa. Going into the session with a solid effort or plan to increase the number of CC-licensed work published in Africa would be awesome!

A poster session to showcase some of the efforts/tools/platforms that are adopting CC in Africa would be awesome!

Also, folk in Uganda put in a bid to host the Summit. Did you guys have a couple of ideas that we can repurpose for Seoul?

Kind Regards,

Hi Kelsey, everyone,

Thanks for this message!

Tobias and myself have been on a, "connecting all of our teams"  assignment the affiliates gave us during our last round of calls.

We commenced with design of a continental website where we can all be posting developments in our region and around the CC world.

Attached please find a mock-up of the landing page for your valued comments. We're also in touch with CC Europe discussing how to borrow (and remix on to ours) their proposed regional website. More on that later.

Meanwhile, we encourage all to contribute to your suggestions.

Have a great day,

Tobias and Alex

Hi Everyone

It feels like it's been ages since we've all chatted. I keep seeing amazing things on the CC HQ blog about everyone's activities. Nigeria's School of Open is filling my facebook feed with great pics! and TZ SOO primary school program photo/blog was awesome. Ethiopia team getting started, everyone has been such a great support to them. I can't keep track!

I'm starting to think about the CC Summit and what we as a continent can do/bring/show

Does anyone have any ideas?

I was thinking about the CC Mixtape maybe we can do an Africa version? or film?  I think it would be great to showcase something together.

but was also thinking about a panel discussion on CC in the wild - to showcase/talk about the uses of CC in print form. I'm thinking about African Storybook Project and BookDash. Maybe you have some examples.

I just wanted to get the ball rolling and see what ideas we can come up with.
