I'm just sharing this every helpful message from Isla at WikiAfrica. (below)
A few weeks back Alex posted about a African Wiki site. Bukola inquired about how to get involved. I thought I'd share in case anyone else wanted to take Alex's idea further.
Thanks!
Kelsey

Thank you for the clarification - I was reading the thread of emails and not the subject of the email itself!

Dear Bukola
So, there is already a crowd sourced project called Wiktionary that is part of the Wikimedia group of projects: https://www.wiktionary.org/
to find out about it, read the Wikipedia article on it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiktionary
This would be the best place to get involved. I am not sure what you want you specifically are interested in getting involved in, but you can definitely add any culturally specific references here for English, or contribute in your home language (if it isn't English). Or, if one has not yet started, you could start a dictionary in your language - check out which languages are already started here:
This tutorial will show you how to get started: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Wiktionary:Tutorial
If you have any questions, you can ask them here: https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Wiktionary:Information_desk
Good luck, let me know if you need any help or have any more questions!
warmest
Isla
