As a
supporter of CC and related freedoms, I find the form requested by the IEE for
publication of conference proceedings to border on the unethical. For example,
it will require me to acknowledge the IEE every time I use a diagram or some
text that I happen to have included in a paper, although I may well have used
it elsewhere beforehand. The relevant text is at: http://conferences.iee.org/acdc/copyright_form.pdf So,
although I have a paper that I think relevant and important to a conference, I
find myself quite unwilling to put up with these conditions. This harms the profession,
and is arguable unprofessional. Have
others faced similar dilemmas, and what have they done about it? Regards David David Hirst !-!?!-Hirst Solutions Limited Innovation Technology Sustainability |
