my personal feeling about facebook pages for things like this are that they are more hassle than they are worth, & that they go against the underlying philosophy of CC. also a fb page requires someone to constantly be maintaining it & it's just another task - when there is already a great web site that is accessible to anyone, whether they choose to be a fb user or not.

why can't individuals who have a fb account just post the link to the blog? that way people keeping getting led out of fb & reminded that there exists a whole world outside of it ...

Hi all,

Thanks for your help. After careful thought, I’ve decided to go with RIP: A Remix Manifesto for our CC tenth birthday celebration film screening, which fittingly features Lawrence Lessig, our well-known co-founder. This will be held at the New Zealand Film Archive on Wednesday December 5 at 7pm. Entry is $8, to cover the costs of our host.

The blog-post for this is here: http://www.creativecommons.org.nz/2012/11/creative-commons-is-turning-ten/

We’d love to get a strong turnout, so if you’re in the region, please come along. The film is 80 minutes, so it shouldn’t run too late.

Incidentally, this is the sort of event Facebook could help with, so please chip in on that thread before we make a decision either way!

Cheers,

Matt
