Hi
It would make sense to have a facebook presence.
It would make sense to use is as a chanel that has the
same value as announcements made to this mailing list
/paul From: cc-nz-bounces AT lists.ibiblio.org [mailto:cc-nz-bounces AT lists.ibiblio.org] On Behalf Of Matt McGregor Sent: Monday, 26 November 2012 5:21 PM To: 'Creative Commons Aotearoa New Zealand discussion' Subject: [Cc-nz] Volunteer Network and Facebook: Call for Feedback Hi all, One of my medium term plans is to formalise a network of CC
champions and volunteers. The latter will ideally come from schools and
universities. To do so, I’ve been raising the idea of using Facebook, purely for
the purposes of recruiting volunteers and pointing them to materials on the
CCANZ email list and website. It would also be very useful for promoting events.
Facebook is obviously not an ideal fit for us, though I feel
that CCANZ needs to be able to speak to those people who do all their
communicating (and event-planning) there. Again, the key would be to keep
our CCANZ site and list as the primary channels, and use Facebook as a
recruitment tool. I’m agnostic on this, though I can see both sides. Any
thoughts either way from the community? Best wishes, Matt McGregor
