Hi all,

First, I'd like to point you all to the planning page for our 10th anniversary events: http://wiki.creativecommons.org/New_Zealand_Events_2012 Feel free to put yourself down as a tentative organiser.

Second, I've added a 'resources' page to the CCANZ website: http://www.creativecommons.org.nz/resources/ Of note is our CCANZ poster, which will feature in 12000 issues of Interface, a magazine for school technology teachers. (It's currently only in PDF, and it has the designer's margins, but I'll put up different formats shortly). I've also added a short, generic slideshow for folks to use in their seminars, conferences, classrooms and the like. Have a look, and let me know what you think. If you have any CC resources you would like to recommend, get in touch. I'll be putting up more resources by CCANZ soon.

Third, I'm continuing to add case studies to the site. If you want to nominate anyone to be featured on the site, let me know.

Finally, a quick word on the community side of the website. While it was sad to see the forum disappear, I feel like our current website will be a much more effective community resource, especially as we look to expand the CC community. To this end, I'm inviting folks on this list to suggest topics they would like to see discussed or covered on the website. I will then solicit, write or co-write a short piece introducing the topic, with the discussion to be held in the comments thread.

The obvious downside to this is that it is more centralised and formalised: Absent our old user accounts, I'll have to act as middleman. I realise this isn't ideal.

However, the upsides are: 1) Community discussion will be a more central part of the website, featured on the home-page; 2) Posts will be more regular. The old forum had a few dozen posts, and few comments, whereas I plan to post on the website at least twice a week; as a result, 3) a wider range of CC users are likely to view--and participate in--our discussions; meaning that, 4) the site will be a living resource for CC users and supporters.

Feedback, as always, much appreciated.

Best wishes,
Matt McGregor
