Hi all,
A quick thanks to everyone who attended the Nethui meetup. It was a great discussion. For those who couldn't attend and are interested in the movement for open access to scholarly publishing, I've written a post for our site, which gives a quick introduction to some of the issues.
The Creative Commons licences were mentioned in nearly every session I attended. Aside from the usual hat-tips in the copyright sessions, there was some discussion on Creative Commons policies in schools, which just happens to be a major focus of CCANZ at the moment. (FYI, I've written a guide to such policies, for BoTs and others to use, which can be found here).
In other news, I've created a wiki on the CC international site to plan CC's 10th birthday celebrations. Have a think about what you could organise in your town, and add your name to the list.
Finally, I'd like to point you to two new additions to our culture page, Bronwyn Holloway-Smith and Jem Yoshioka! Bronwyn has been working in open source 3D printing; Jem in comics and illustration. I highly recommend you check out their work.
Best wishes,
Matt McGregor.
