Kia ora koutou

Firstly, great to see this message coming down from government
supporting open access to publicly produced data. A big thanks and pat
on the back to everyone that's been involved in pushing the open
government kaupapa. Keep up the good work. Kia kaha.

Also, my apologies for missing the CC meet up in Te Whanganui-a-Tara.
I was working for the NZ International Film Festival, and really
needed some time at home at that point. Glad to hear it went well, and
looking forward to getting along to future iterations. Did anyone take
some notes? Could you feedback the salient points for us?

Ngā mihi nui

"The content industry has done a good job convincing the world that
the internet will enable what they call 'piracy' That has obscured the
fact that the internet will also enable an extraordinary potential for
creativity. And it has obscured the fact that the weapons they use to
eradicate 'piracy' will also destroy the environment for this
'creativity.' They spray DDT to kill a gnat. We say: 'Silent Spring.'"
