We will be updating the public version of 4.0d3 with changes and
corrections during this last revision period, so that you can see what
the most current version looks like leading up to final publication of
the license. In order to make it clearer what has changed and when,
you can now view the changes between revisions of the HTML copy of the
draft in a version control system. (If you are not interested in
viewing the change history, you may continue to see the most current
revision of the draft at the location we've already shared,
http://mirrors.creativecommons.org/drafts/by-nc-sa_4.0d3.html.)
To see the changes to the license in version control, here are some
brief instructions.
4.0 draft 3, as it was initially published, is visible here (it is the
first available version of 4.0 in the system, as previous 4.0 drafts
were not tracked this way):
http://code.creativecommons.org/viewsvn?view=revision&revision=15749
To see a list of what has changed, you can look through the commit
log, which will list changes and display comments on those changes:
http://code.creativecommons.org/viewsvn/legalcode/trunk/?view=log
For example, the most recent change was fixing section links (as
pointed out by Luis Villa on the list). To see the exact content of a
change, click the "text changed" link for each file:
http://code.creativecommons.org/viewsvn?view=revision&revision=15750
Each revision is assigned a number, and will show the exact date and
time the change was made, along with brief comments. When you click on
the revision number, it will show you what files changed; if you want
to see what specifically changed in that file, you simply click the
"text changed" link.
Thanks to Nathan Kinkade for setting this up!
