Hi Brent,

You're right that version 4.0 does not specifically mention CC+, but it does make clear in Section 6(b) that licensors may allow extra permissions beyond those granted by the particular license, which is what CC+ enables. (For example, someone could apply BY-ND and then allow licensees to create translations.)

Licensors will still be able to use the CC+ metadata to grant extra permissions to the public in connection with version 4. Note that, as with prior versions, use of CC+ will not actually create a different license.

Hope that answers your question.
best,
Sarah

Hi,

I can't find anything about CC+ in v4. We are working through devising a CC+ licence for data, under CC3, as described here.

Given this technically is outside the domain of a CC licence, but allows organisations to have customised licences in conjunction with a CC licence, there may be no need to change this with a new CC licence.

Is it intended to maintain support for CC+ within the CC4 framework, in particular the above page & general facilitation for CC+ licences?

Thanks

Brent Wood
