You might use this commercially if you pay a X % royalty to the
copyright owner(s).


I think it's been suggested before, the issue is that people
contribute to the work, but the royalty only goes to the original
author, and that's generally given the thumbs down.

If you don't intend to have any contributers to your project,
then you could just as easily put an ad at the top of the work
saying "this work can be used commercailly for X% royalty"
and then license the work CC-BY-NC-ND

There's more to my idea than that, but I won't post it here if it's the wrong forum for it. That's why I'm asking. So, is this the right forum?
