Hi,
I am new to the list, so please excuse lack of previous discussions.

Two questions:
1. For a digitization project, the library I work for needs to get permission from rightsholders as the material is not public domain. I would like that the rightsholders put the material under a cc licence. This makes it simple for the library to manage and communicate the rights situation to the users. Is there previous experience with this approach?

2. The cc licence allowing derivative works is well suited ti aqllow post-processing of the digitized material like OCR and index building to achieve better interfaces for the users. Is there previous experience with this approach? Can OCR actually be considered a derivative work?

cheers, patrick
