Greetings all,
Is this the correct list for discussing a new CC license?
The FAQ says that for software documentation, the GNU FDL is recommended.
That's certainly a good choice since it is the most popular license for
Free/OpenSource Software. I thought perhaps it could be made into a CC
license, kind of like how the GPL and LGPL are CC licenses too.
I can think of two options here:
1) Make a human-readable commons deed for the FDL, as was done for the
GPL and LGPL.
2) Talk to the FSF about a version 2.0 (current is 1.2) of the license
which fits better in the scheme of the CC. For example, remove the
invariant sections. And then make a commons deed for it.
Is this the right place for this discussion?
Cheers,
