For such event, I am greatly supporting this cause, and hope that if i can be there tomorrow (depends on my arrangement for lectures). It is great to hear the Japanese NHK did such great work.

Cheers,

Johnny

That's true. NHK Japan had launched a "NHK Creative Library" website
on Oct 31, one month after RTHK launched the RTHK Creative Archive
site on Sept 30.
Although apparently NHK has not adpoted the CC terms yet, they do seem
to have a committed plan to offer free content for public use, with
3000 video clips expected to be uploaded by the end of this year.

Japan’s public broadcaster NHK today launched a ‘NHK Creative Library’
on its website, offering users selected content for free.

Internet users can access the NHK Creative Library to download video
and audio clips of nature and animals which have been selected from
NHK’s video archives.

The clips are free to use provided they are credited and it is for a
non-profit purpose.

NHK said 3,000 thousand video clips are expected to be uploaded by the
end of 2009.

The new service aims to share NHK’s content with its viewers, and
through this provide a platform to raise creativity and visual
information literacy among the public and teenagers towards awareness
on copyright.

Currently the content offered is in Japanese only. To view content
available for download, go to http://www.nhk.or.jp/creative/index.html
