Comparative Perspectives on Digital Copyright Reform: Lessons from Abroad and Beyond
Event Details Hong Kong is currently exploring the introduction of
more stringent copyright laws to reduce unauthorized copying of
copyright works on the Internet. Drawing on experiences from Australia,
Canada, China, the United Kingdom, and the United States, this timely
event examines how countries respond to continuous challenges in
striking the appropriate balance in the copyright system in the digital
age. This panel also discusses the development and launch of the
Creative Commons license in Hong Kong. The event is jointly sponsored
by the Intellectual Property Law Center at Drake University Law School
in Des Moines, Iowa and the Journalism and Media Studies Centre at the
University of Hong Kong.
