Hi everyone,
I am not sure if someone mentioned this already. A popular HK blogger littleoslo reported a creative commons violation controversy http://www.littleoslo.com/cnt/home/?p=1053
It was about Virgin Mobile using CC licensed photos for a commercial marketing campaign. A brief explanation and response was given by CC Australia http://creativecommons.org.au/node/126
On the positive side, this is an example that if you allow commercial use of your CCed material, it is possible to be used a sizable martketing campaign and you can get free promotion through attribution.
On the negative side, if some of your friends like to post group photos online, You need to know what conditions the photos are licensed under (http://flickr.com/photos/sesh00/515961023/). If you are the person who like to post photos with your friends online and you want to CC them, choose an appropriate license and make sure that your friends understand and agree with it.
