FYI. If you are in Hong Kong please come.
Perhaps we can have a mini-meeting afterwards for people interested in promoting CC in Hong Kong.

Message from Journalism and Media Studies Centre

The Media Law Project, Journalism and Media Studies Centre, HKU,
presents a seminar on

Copyright Reforms in the Digital Age

With a presentation by Peter K. Yu, Michigan State University College
of Law and remarks by Charles Mok, Chairman of Internet Society
Hong Kong

Date:April 19, 2007
Time:5:00p.m. to 6:30p.m.
Venue: Foundation Chamber, G/F, Eliot Hall, The University of Hong
Kong

From massive illegal file-sharing to unauthorized recoding of
copyrighted works, the advent of the Internet and new
communications technologies have created major challenges for
copyright holders. In light of these challenges, the HKSAR government
is currently conducting a consultation on "Copyright Protection in the
Digital Environment." Do we need online copyright reforms? Can the
reforms effectively target the digital piracy problem? Would the new
laws create unintended consequences? Are there other alternatives
besides copyright law revision? Drawing on experience from the United
States and other countries, the speaker will explore copyright reforms
in the digital age, with an emphasis on the government's consultation
document.
