Hi all,
we hope that you are all enjoying your well-deserved holidays.
John and I are back in business, and upon doing a quick cross-check of the GS applications, we noticed that some of you have declared interest in attending and a sponsorship, but have not completed their application yet.
Because we will be considering the sponsorships this week, and because we are on a tight budget, it is really important for us to know who will be attending and requiring a sponsorship asap (as in: by the end of this week).
A little word on the procedure we'll be following:
We want to give you a fair warning that, given the current budget situation, full sponsorships might be unrealistic. As we want as many of you present, we are considering awarding sponsorships of 70% of the average flight price. Based on the prices I found on Kayak, and on the number of persons that have already applied, that should at least get one team member per country to Seoul. Considering that we will probably (please note: probably - not set in stone yet) also be able to fund all registration fees and hotel rooms for all affiliates (even those who might be left without other travel sponsoring) for the duration of the conference, we hope that you are ok with this deal.
We are still trying to work out how to deal with teams with multiple applications. Most probably, we will give to those teams a lump sum to divide - but this will be dependent on how much travel sponsoring still comes in.
If you have any strong leads for travel sponsoring or are able to find other funds for your travel, please drop me a line. Every euro counts!
These are the applications of CC Europe affiliates we have received up until now. If you should be on there, but aren't, please get in touch.
If any of your colleagues should be on here, but is on holiday or won't be reading mail this week - drop me a line so that I know that we'll have to consider them in our budget allocations.
