Hi all

Most of you will be familiar with the Shuttleworth Foundation, one of the major funders of innovation in the open field. Their fellows feature many members of the CC community, including Jonas Oberg (former European Regional Coordinator), Catharina Maracke (former Director of Creative Commons International) and David Wiley (CC Education Fellow).

Shuttleworth is currently doing a call out for more women applicants. Their fellowships are open to all, but they're hoping to increase their diversity.

Here's their call out, in case anyone is interested or know someone who is. Please pass it on within your networks.

At the Shuttleworth Foundation, we have built up a Fellowship programme over the last 5 years that we are extremely proud of. We are supporting individuals who are brave enough to re-imagine the world in which they live and do something about it.

Although not initially the case, the programme currently consists largely of men and the pipeline into the Fellowship does not offer much hope that this will change in the near future. We believe the programme will be stronger with a more diverse group.

We would like  to ask for your assistance in strengthening our network of women and women-friendly groups with the intent of expanding their presence on the Fellowship and associated peer group. Specifically:

1) Please pass this email on to women and women-friendly groups. They themselves may not wish to apply, but someone within their networks may. We would happily dial in to any meet-ups they have, or drop in if one of the team is passing by.

2) Tell us who we should be in touch with.  Who are key information shapers in this space?  We will either reach out to them or would love an introduction.

About the Shuttleworth Foundation:

We offer:
- Up to $1m in cash over 3 years
- Freedom and flexibility to implement your vision for social change
- A supportive network of peers

We ask:

- 100% commitment to focusing on your vision
- Open licensing and collaborative approaches
- Willingness to fully engage in the network and build community

For more information go to www.shuttleworthfoundation.org or please do get in touch with us.
