Hi all,

Teresa suggested trying to find some funding to let a DJ do a remix. Yannick brought up the issue of having a web page dedicated for this. Is this something people are keen on doing, or should we aim for just a collection without its own web page?

Here are two suggestions for the Netherlands (in consultation with Maarten)

Black Atlantic - Fragile Meadow : http://blackatlantic.bandcamp.com/track/fragile-meadow    (BY-NC-SA)
Pete Philly - Mirror (song attached, more to be found at http://openloops.net/#/music/mirror/ ) (BY-NC-ND)

The contributions for Belgium will follow asap, I'm still double checking some possible copyright issues.

If someone wants to design a dedicated webpage for this, Kennisland can take care of hosting.
Maybe I can also free up some time if there are some other things that need to be done, who is going to coordinate?

Kind regards,

Yannick

One suggestion for the affiliates who do not know so much what's going on in their countries in what concerns to CC licensed music: ask for suggestions!

I know some names of Portuguese artists and labels and I've heard some, but I think tour CC community knows them better. So, my idea is to ask people (through Facebook and Twitter) to send us their suggestions.

If people in your country get really involved with the idea, you can even try to do a national mixtape (I will try that in Portugal ;) We would then upload the national mixtapes along with the European one to Soundcloud.

For the European mixtape (where we should all focus), the idea is to have 2 tracks from each European affiliate. Each affiliate can send us a few tracks (minimum 2, maximum 10) until October 15.

If we get some funding from CC HQ we can then hire a professional DJ to select and remix them. Of course that, to do a remixture, the tracks need to be licensed with a CC license that allows Adaptations. Otherwise, we can only do a Collection, which is fine too, so don't worry so much about the license...

Ok, let's do it!

Best,

Teresa

Hi all,

following up on Theresa's suggestion at the meeting today of compiling a
CC Mixtape for the 10th birthday:

Pls send me one or two suggestions of cc-licensed music (good stuff only
;-) from the past 10 years. I'll try to compile that into 20 songs
covering the past decade.
