Before reading your comments, Ka-Ping Yee, I tried the new selector
myself. I love it! Also, I would have to completely agree with what
you said, especially about understanding the state you are in without
seeing any other states of the selector.

Also, I think it would be nice to not have to do any scrolling to see
the rest of the options. Maybe use some tricky javascript or something
to show/hide the optional content?

Hello,

I have some feedback for you regarding the new license generator at

http://labs.creativecommons.org/freedomslicense/

After reading Larry Lessig's latest blog entry, i posted a comment
there. I'm repeating my feedback here since the above web page asks
me to send comments here.

I have three suggestions for you to consider:

1. Make the distinctions between activated/deactivated puzzle pieces
and clickable/unclickable puzzle pieces much clearer -- so clear that
it's obvious even from seeing a piece in a single state what state
it's in. Right now, i really couldn't tell until i saw all the
variations and compared them. When the pieces are unclickable,
desaturate them almost all the way to grey, for example.

2. Preload the images so that they change instantly when clicked
(instead of disappearing for a few seconds while a new image loads).

3. Adjust the hit regions to make them accurately fit the puzzle
pieces. I noticed that sometimes the wrong piece is activated if
i don't click right in the corner.

I hope these comments are helpful. I like the concept of the license
generator quite a lot, and hope that after you make these changes it
will be successful.
