Ishinan: ABSOLUTELY NOT a variant. In Arabic 'mtn'
means rendering it strong, stout, firm. 'Mtn' is often used as a
reference to the back or spine. Also is used to describe the middle of
the broad side of a blade, the middle of a bow, any hard and elevated
ground etc.
Out of sheer curiosity, what is your
reference?
