Pere,
Look at the various usages of the two words, and see if this might be a
possible differentiation: treat M(+ as a description of quantity and Q+N as
a description of significance. Some (TWOT, for one) have M(+ mean something
like "few in number" and Q+N as "insignificant." That being said, there are
still cases where the two concepts appear to be true synonyms.
I have not checked to see if there is an idiosyncratic tendency for a writer
to use one over the other, so you might want to check to see if you can find
the two used in the same context and see if this suggested distinction holds
true.
Hope this helps,
Paul Zellmer

Dear Yigal,
as an answer to your question and for the sake of a better understanding of
my question I send again my post with a little change:
In Gn 30:30 we have M(+, little, small (adjective singular, male).
In Gn 44:20 we have Q+N, little, small (adjective singular, male).
I'm looking for the contact points and the differences between the meaning
of these two adjectives.
M(+ is also used as an adverb, I know (cf Ps 8:6). But now and here my
interest is not on M(+ as an adverb.
My question is: in which aspect or sense they are the same thing (as regards
their true and real meaning) and in which aspect or sense they are
different?
