Back in November 2006 we had a few messages questioning the reasons
for when to say )NY and when )NKY for the pronoun ā€œIā€. I was reminded
of that recently when looking at the proposed training materials for
the Cohelet project and their frequent use of )NY, some of which feel
wrong.

While there seems to be a fuzzy line between the two and a certain
amount of crossover, one pattern that seems to come out is that verses
using )NY still have the emphasis on the action with )NY playing
second fiddle, while )NKY emphasizes the person with the action, if
any, of secondary importance. An example that seems to point that out
is Jonah 1:9 which has both.

Any thoughts?

Karl W. Randolph.
