Dear Karl,
But the first part of the verse still gives me problems. לביא LBY)
means lioness, used in plural only in Nahum 2:12 so I wonder if it
here comes from the concept of coming?
Karl W. Randolph.
Without getting into the problem of Ps. 57, "lavi" - LBY) - appears 12 times as a lion. For two clear examples see Gen. 49:9 and Num. 24:9, in both of which it is paralleled by "aryeh" or "ary". The fem. form "levi'ah" only appears in Nah. 2:13, in the plural.
