HALOT lists quite a few onomatopoeic words. Do a search in that lexicon
in BibleWorks for onomatop* and you'll get a heap.
Regards,
David Kummerow.
Does anyone know examples of B-Hebrew words where the pronunciation (the sound) correspond to the meaning of the word?
I know about the Hebrew word "tor" (turtle-dove) which sounds like the bird.
And the cheth-sound in "ruach" may sound like a "breath" or "wind".
Are there any more examples?
