Hi, Dave,

Well, now you know. As if anyone else in Semitic studies has written this stuff up or has examined the products of bookshops -- as well known as they are in Late-Antique and Medieval studies.

Here's the context:
7a) One other type of dictated document is relevant: bookshop copies written by teams of scribes.
7b) A lector dictated the text.
7c) The team of scribes wrote what they heard.
7d) Scribes at a bookshop were trained to write in one dialect.

Examples of bookshop products may be found among the DSS.

Now, shall we move this over to Megillot if you wish to continue?

I doubt that anyone on this list is at all interested.

Cheers,

Rochelle
