It gives me pleasure to agree fully with Peter in this case;
though I hastily add that I have the highest respect for Rolf's scholarship
and knowledge.

Uri

"I disagree that "for ever" is interpretive, it seems to me that this is
the clear and correct meaning of the lexical item, in this context, and,
as far as I can tell so far in the absence of any convincing evidence on
this list, in every context....

B-Hebrew chaberim:

The word H)DM does not seem to fit this sentence. Are=20
there any alternate readings from other texts?=20

Within the sentence structure, it looks as if H)DM should=20
be a verb, but there is none listed in the dictionary that fits=20
this context. If a verb, which one? Could it be from the=20
same root as )YD ?

LXX doesn't seem to make any sense here either.

In the critical apparatus of Biblica Hebreica it was noted=20
that some recognize this as interrogative prefix, however=20
if so, that should be on the KY, not on )DM.

Any thoughts?

Karl W. Randolph.
