I have a suspicion that the word is also used for bear/beget, e.g. in Gen
4:1. If so, Ex 15:16, rather than "the people You created" or "the people
You
acquired", could be "the people You birthed". (For Gd as giving birth to
the
people, cf. Deut 32:18.)
Does anyone know of evidence from cognate languages to support my hunch?
