As indicated in the articles referred to by Yitzhak Sapir, those
"suspected of robbing ancient burial graves and attempting to sell the
bones" to the ultra-Orthodox Zaka rescue-and-recovery organization, did so
"realizing Zaka officials would go to great lengths to ensure the bones are
retrieved and buried in accordance to Jewish Law." "Zaka officials
contacted police and the two [suspects] were apprehended ahead of the bone
deal."
In addition, "The recovered antiquities were turned over to IAA
officials and Zaka volunteers today will hold a burial service for the
bones, which date back to the Second Temple era." The now-empty ossuaries
are in the hands of the IAA.
